The Brief
The existing multi storey Semi-detached house was altered though the years, with no coherent layout practical to a family home. The layout had to be significantly changed with extension of another level to accommodate a studio and Study. Contemporary industrial aesthetics was requested to compliment the remaining heritage value of the old house.
The Concept
The entire house was removed from all internal portioning, walls and steps. New half levels were created between existing main levels, and an additional half level up was created for a new studio. Feature open stair-well was designed to connect all levels. The result was a connection of half levels to the next with flowing spaces in a three-dimensional manner.
