Tamboerskloof Extension
The Brief
The single story existing 1890's Victorian House is placed in one of Cape Town's heritage conservation areas of Tamboerskloof. The extension to this heritage classified house ,needed to be highly sensitive. New pavilion extension was required to extend the house and create a practical flow from the existing house and to a new entertainment pool and court area. The existing house was to be fully renovated in addition to the extension.
The Concept
The extension is set away from the house, to allow the existing house to maintain it's presence as the main original building on site. The space between the existing house and new extension will create a new entrance court. The extension will become a subservient to the main house, and will open up to a new pool court and garden.
